Last week we drew a couple of shiny household pouring vessels. One a plastic silver effect stay warm jug (thermos type) and a brass indoor plant watering can. We used charcoal and chalk on grey paper. This was a combination I used to do portraits on the streets of Menton in the South of France in 1982. The idea is for the grey paper to act as the mid-tone but also it is a help to not be battling with the white paper.
Here are a few of the pieces produced in the two sessions last week. Some were done in 10 minutes and some over 30.
