As well as regular classes and workshops, I also offer one to one support, residential weekends and bespoke sessions for art groups.
Wednesday 7pm – 9pm
Thursday 10am – 12 noon
1.30pm – 3.30pm
These small classes are held at my studio in Fulford, York. I offer a relaxing, calm environment with supportive challenge to ensure your work develops. I like to cover a range of subjects over each term; drawing is part of the process and developing relationships with all types of media is also core to these classes. In every topic covered there is an element of flexibility which allows people to follow their own direction in class time.
Students are asked to commit to a six-week block (cost £60). Drop-in places may be available for £12 a session.
Drawing class Wednesday 10am – 1pm
These classes originated because some people want longer sessions focusing solely on drawing skills. They are offered on a drop-in basis at £15 per session – pre-booking required.View testimonials
ONE TO ONES
Focused attention on your art practice provides the opportunity to review, and to expand your skills and ambition. Sessions are offered at £25 per hour .
These sessions are particularly useful to people who want space to reflect on their art work, are preparing for exams, or as a mentoring session for professional artists.
A warm welcome is given to all at these two annual residential weekends which attract both amateur and professional artists. The weekends offer an opportunity to work en-plein-air. Your fellow artists often request informal critiques of the work they’ve produced, offer feedback if asked and share tips and guidance about best art practice. They are usually held in the Dales in early summer and at Staithes in September.
I run a variety of workshops, mainly from my studio and at York Art and Crafts. I can respond to demand for small workshops from the studio when interest is expressed.
Bespoke sessions with local art groups can be developed according to the groups’ needs; many request a demonstration followed by individual practice.
