Portraits with the Walton Group of Artists (Workshops)

blog-item

Two Saturdays ago I led a portraiture workshop with the Walton Group of Artists based near Wetherby North Yorkshire  http://www.waltongroupofartists.co.uk/. It is the second workshop I have done with them and it was a very pleasurable days work for me.

The workshop was about portraits but I wanted a looser more fluid approach. We used monochrome acrylic paints with pva and applied the paint with card, fingers any thing that would create a different mark. We worked on both white and coloured papers

I have grouped all the results into one large gallery to view. All the poses were around 20-25 minutes and the sitters were from the group. Everyone volunteered and both Clare and Jackie did two sittings.

The 20 minute poses gave just enough time to get enough information down and be a real spur to get on with it.

I believe we did some good work and hope to be working with this group again next year.

Below are a few photos of the session.
